Who Supports Issue 1?
Issue 1 is supported by a diverse group of individuals and organizations from both the private and public sectors who recognize how vital continued state investment in technology, innovation and entrepreneurship is to Ohio’s economic well being.
Issue 1 was placed on the ballot with strong bipartisan support from Ohio’s elected leaders. It was approved by a 30-2 vote in the Ohio Senate and an 83-14 vote in the Ohio House of Representatives.
Since then, the list of Ohioans supporting Issue 1 has been growing rapidly. Supporters represent all sectors of Ohio’s economy – manufacturing, agriculture, healthcare, higher education, R&D, advanced and renewable energy, and more. Supporters include students, organized labor, the nonprofit sector and local government leaders.
Supporters of Issue 1 understand that technology-based economic development is the key to positioning Ohio as a leader in the global economy. They also understand that such investments will support new business formation, create tens of thousands of new jobs and fuel long-term economic growth in our state.
