About Us

United for Jobs and Ohio's Future is a diverse coalition of citizens and organizations from across Ohio that is working to educate voters about the critical need to approve Issue 1 on the May 4, 2010 ballot. Issue 1 would authorize renewal and continuation of the highly successful Ohio Third Frontier economic development and jobs program. Through this program, Ohio’s investment in technology, innovation and entrepreneurs has resulted in the formation of more than 500 new companies, the expansion of existing companies, and more than 48,000 new jobs for Ohioans.

United for Jobs and Ohio's Future includes representatives of business and industry, agriculture, higher education and organized labor from across Ohio; representatives of Ohio’s research and entrepreneur communities; students and workers seeking new career opportunities; elected officials from both major political parties; and other community leaders and citizens.

The group's co-chairs are:

  • Jo Ann Davidson, former Speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and former Co-Chairman of the Republican National Committee. A resident of Columbus, Ms. Davidson operates the consulting firm JAD and Associates.
  • David Wilhelm, former Chairman of the Democratic National Committee and former campaign manager for President Bill Clinton. A resident of Bexley, Mr. Wilhem is founder of two venture capital funds active in the Ohio market, including Athens-based Adena Ventures, which focuses on the Appalachian region.
